Lessons We Learned From 2020

Lessons We Learned From 2020

Wow, what a year. We never could have expected or anticipated the challenges 2020 has brought, but I do have to say, I am so grateful for what the year has taught me and the lessons I have learned as a leader.

I’d like to share with you a few of the lessons that I have learned (and some highlights, too) as I reflect back on this year:

  • Focus on your people and your culture. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and how we support each other day in and day out. We couldn’t do what we do each day without our strong team and their commitment to the company, our values, continuous learning, technology, our products and our clients. This year, we really concentrated our efforts on our team and building our workplace culture and we saw this pay off tenfold.
  • Focus on community. In late March, after seeing that PPE was in low supply, we began to brainstorm on how we may be able to help. After a lot of research, brainstorming and much discussion, we realized we had the equipment and the manpower to create face shields. That is how “Kenmore Cares” was born. What a rewarding and remarkable initiative this has been for our team and company to give back together in this way to first responders, front line heroes, businesses and community members across the country.
  • Lastly, we are so grateful as a company that we did not have to furlough any team members and that we have been able to make up for the production from slower months earlier this year. Thank you to our fantastic clients and our partners for your continued support!

At Kenmore Envelope Company, we are driven by our company values and not only are we a team, but we are a family. We love what we do each and every day and we’re so proud to produce high quality, custom and innovative envelopes that make an impact. This year, we have truly built a better and stronger company and I am so excited for all that 2021 has to offer.
